Welcome to Beauteal Cotons, the home of our gorgeous and loyal friends. Coton de Tulear are a wonderful breed of dog with a sensitive and playful nature and are often described as ‘clowns’. Cotons are highly intelligent unique little dogs with big personalities and huge hearts. It is believed that the Coton de Tulear evolved from Bichon type breeds native to Madagascar. They are small dogs with a fluffy white cotton-like coat that doesn’t moult and requires daily grooming. They weigh between 4kg and 6kg and have a lifespan of between 14 and 16 years. This dog is perfect for allergy sufferers as their coats shed very little hair and contain only small amounts of dander.

This breed makes for excellent companions and are excellent lapdogs. They make good family dogs and socialise well with other animals. We’ve found the breed to be good natured and loving.

Our first Coton was Travis, who we were very fortunate to get from the lovely Julie Rawlings of Coppercotons, and he soon established himself as one of our most loveable and faithful members of the family. As our love for the breed continued to grow, we couldn’t resist the temptation any longer and decided to get our second Coton from Coppercotons, Chloe. Our little bundles of joy got on fantastically and created a beautiful harmony throughout our home.

We began to learn more and more about the breed and with a combination of enthusiasm and support from Coppercotons, we decided that we would like to help maintain the high breed standards and begin breeding litters. Beauteal Cotons was founded on Friday 5th May 2006 and preparations were made for our first litter of puppies
On the 27th September 2007, Chloe gave birth to her first litter of puppies, Poppy. Rosie and Evie. It was lovely to help Chloe raise her pups and they turned out brilliantly. More details about the puppies can be found on the Puppies page.

Since our first litter we had been looking for another lovely female to join our family. We found Diva.
